SMALL BUT EFFICIENT
The kitchen of this three room apartment in the city center of The Hague turned out to be very small in comparison with the generous layout of the adjacent living room. It did not correspond any more to the needs of the owner and was old and inefficient.
The client wanted to have a newer and more functional kitchen, with more storage and working areas, still opened to towards the eating table in the living room.
The concept Atelier Koller proposed previewed the closing of a part of the connection towards the living area to gain not only essential storage space, but also to create in this way essential new working surfaces, which could be used also as a bar.
The kitchen, situated in retreat from the windows of the living area was decided to be white with all necessary new electrical equipment and more functional and wider drawers
Together with the new cupboards, the whole electrical system and lightning scheme were redone. The existing stone floor could be kept and was combined perfectly with the black stone surfaces of the working area.
